4 May 2022 - We have been having recurring technical issues with our telephone system which our suppliers and BT have not been able to resolve to date.  Both will be onsite today to review and hopefully resolve the problem.   We have managed to avoid any downtime but there may be periods when our incoming lines will be restricted dramatically.   We would appreciate your help and understanding.  if your call is not urgent, please call later in the day or even another day.   Our staff will be answering calls as best they can.   Many thanks Taff Vale

26 April 2022 - Unfortunately we are having ongoing issues with our telephone system.  Over the past few days they have been dropping out for 10-20 seconds or so meaning calls are lost.  Our system supplier and BT are looking into the issue as a matter of urgency.  Our staff are doing the best they can in a difficult situation.   thank you for your understanding.

On 1 March 2022 I am retiring from the Practice I helped found 37 years ago. During that time we established enviable services based on the needs of the local community.  I have been privileged to work with some outstanding loyal staff who shared my objectives, for that and the knowledge that I did my best for my patients, I am grateful.

My best wishes for the future Dr Bill Harris

We are sorry to say that our staffing levels have declined further and that we are now working at Emergency levels and do not have enough staff to safely man all of our surgeries. To ensure we are able to continue providing a safe service to our patients we will be operating from our main sites at Rhydyfelin and Dewi Sant for the next two weeks. Potentially infective cases will continue to be reviewed in our Glyncoch site as needed.

We are saddened that we need to take these measures but the safety and well being of all our patients and staff is our number one priority. This will be reviewed as soon as our staffing levels allow.

We ask for your understanding when contacting the practice as it may take us longer to deal with your calls, we are working as hard as we can. Please consider using the common ailment scheme, local dentists, opticians and the minor injuries service if felt appropriate. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.  (23 sept 2021)

Due to a national suppliers shortage of blood bottles all non urgent bloods will be put on hold, for the time being. This includes routine monitoring tests.

Urgent tests will continue but will be at the discretion of the clinician.

These steps have been advised by The Local Health board, on government guidance and are therefore, out of our control.

It is anticipated that this shortage will continue for approximately 3 months affecting all clinical settings where tests are undertaken.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
